SALT AND PEPPER
From the beginning of human civilisation until now, our daily life are always involved with art and design. From the drawing on the wall of a cave to the canvas in Louvre, art became a witness of our society. From the spear used to hunt Mammoth to the fork for kale, design became the sculptor of our society. There is no art or design, only art and design. No one can escape the coverage of them, the way of how we think, the pen we write, the image on different posters, even a plain white T-shirt is a design of someone.
Abbie Hoffman, a social activist once said “The key to organising an alternative society is to organise people around what they can do, and more importantly, what they want to do.” He was perfectly depicted how art and design are the key to an unconventional society, designer think practically to organise resources they have and to create something new, as artist express what they think-of at the moment and follow their heart, This combination of practicality and the “touch of human” became the salt and peeper in our society.
